All roads lead to Breda?
The Dutch let us down today. Junction with signs to Breda in three directions for cyclists – not too helpful… Oh well, that’s not bad, that’s the first gripe to date. We followed a 25km ish route today joined by Aunty Jane on a hired (child’s) bike. They have a system of numbered junctions marked on a map, with traffic free and low traffic routes in between. You pick your next destination junction, and follow signs to that, then look for the next numbered junction and so on. Generally works quite well. I’m still admiring the fantastic infrastructure for cyclists. If we had something more like this at home I’m convinced we could increase cycle trips and decrease car use.

Hear hear! (Can that possibly be the right spelling…it looks all wrong?) Says she wot hasn’t been on bike for 20 years. DFM has recently taken it up however on account of not being able to keep up with cycle mad OD)
They’re demolishing the cycle tracks here in Livi to expand the train track and double it up, which is probably good from a public transport pov ‘specialy since they’ve promised to put down new ones. Hard luck on the cyclists and rail users for the next 2 years tho!!
You all look like you’re having a fab time on hols (waves madly). Good blog name btw!!

Hi Maria
Good to hear from you.
I went into training beforehand. The first day I cycled for about half a mile and thought I was dying! I picked up fitness quite quickly, shame I haven’t lost any weight though!
